Jerry Webb is a dynamic and seasoned oil and gas executive, with over 20 years of experience in global operations, technical, and management roles for global powerhouses like Schlumberger and Weatherford International. He has a proven track record of developing and implementing new product strategies and process improvements through the entire upstream value chain. Webb conveys a deep understanding of operational drilling practices, surface and downhole technology, rig automation and Industry 4.0 applications.
As the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Enovate Upstream, Webb oversees the go-to market strategy for the company’s vision, all region and product line operations, service quality, QHSE, engineering, research and development (R&D) and supply chain. Webb brings to Enovate Upstream a pioneering vision of how digital technologies, when successfully implemented, can drastically deflate operational costs while increasing value across the entire well life cycle.
Webb started his career with Schlumberger, followed by Weatherford where he spent 18 years. He served in an executive capacity overseeing mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and initial public offerings including digital technologies. Webb’s accomplishments included establishing the company’s first Organization of Drilling Engineers, first Rig Automation initiative and first Drilling Software Product Line. Having lived and worked in the United States, South America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, Europe and Russia, Webb understands the importance
of culture and is well versed in international business practices.
Webb has been invited to present at multiple conferences and exhibitions worldwide as an expert in breakthrough technology to overcome drilling challenges related to High Pressure High Temperature Operations, Extended Reach Drilling, deep water operations and drilling in geologically complex reservoirs. He has authored numerous SPE publications and was also featured by Drilling Contractor Magazine for establishing a breakthrough bottom hole assembly design that shaved off weeks of operational time in Brazil’s challenging Presalt Basin. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, International Association of Directional Drilling, American Association of Drilling Engineers and is a sponsor for Standard DS-1.
He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University and currently resides in Houston, TX.
